Completion (and it's about time too!)

And there was much rejoicing and heavenly music from a stray chorus of angels passing by.

So here's the lowdown: I'm pretty happy with it, not totally, it's rough, it's still a bit bumpy as is pretty obvious in the pics. The highs are a biiitt high up, and it doesn't look so hot from the back. But really, generally speaking, I'm pretty happy with it, I mean, this is my first paper mache project. Ever. The good news being, that if I ever have to do this again, next time, I'll know what I'm doing rather than winging like heck through the whole project (With help from Google, thanks Google! You're a real pal!) I would have spent more time on it, but Halloween's only a few days away, so I guess good enough will have to do. I'd attempt more detailing on it, but we're out of red paint so I can't erase mistakes. I'll probably do a bit of tweaking still, but this is pretty much the finished project.

So on the whole, 8 outta 10 and I'm happy with it! Next time I need my mad craft skillz, I'll have it figured out.

Day 2

Day 2 of work, (three days in existence, I took Sunday off, cuz I was tired and my head was throbbing almost all day and I wanted to sleep) Still nowhere near down, but it was a layer intended to smook out some of it, not sure if it worked, but it was worth a try :)

Update: Day 3--no pics because it doesn't look so much different (although, much smoother and more fitted.) Maybe I'll get it painted tomorrow?

Batgirl (quicky)

I should be sleeping right now, but I'm not. I have things to do tomorrow and I can't drop dead on my feet. Welp, any time now would be great, common sense.
You may expect a more proficient Batgirl in the future... maybe.

Halloween Prep

Sometimes, occasionally, I attempt to get crafty. But not usually.
Despite the late start on my day (the very, very, extremely, my-family-forgot-I-was-sleeping sort of late start) I made use of it and kept myself off the computer. And it was quite wonderful and frustrating and messy. This here is the spawn of six hours of work, much glue, paper mache, all sorts of stuff. It needs a few more coats to even out the lumpiness, some sanding, red paint.
I've never done this before. Ever. So, it could still fail, but it's worth trying, and I'll try to keep you posted :D

Mermaids

Found a blank piece of paper that somehow got mixed up in my school supplies. It called for an intricate doodle that turned into a coloration that turned into "well, let's try putting some form of background on it."
I draw weird things. But I like this one, she's creepy. the eyeballs weren't cooperating, so I decided to leave them blank, was going to play with just editing them in. I forgot, and then thought it looked cool.
I also can't draw backgrounds.
I also might be developing an obsession with drawing mermaids. That way I don't have to bother with legs.

A-okay, Mr. J.

A Post of Technical Difficulties

Blogger turns my pictures dark for some strange reason, and I haven't figure out how to fix it yet, besides maybe creating a copy of the drawing that's a heck of a lot lighter. So, it looks weird, but I'll try to figure out what's going on here. *glares at Blogger*

Still working on the Harley, it's not behaving, and I'm going to have to redraw it and fix a couple of things that I don't like about it. I like the cargo-pants, slightly tougher look though, chances are, she can move in her costume now.

Finally.

Despite the load of homework I have to do, I proclaimed that today was not for that glaring mountain of work, it was for drawing and I'll probably pay for that. But right now, I'm feeling pretty dang good about having some time to finally do my own thing because I have pretty literally have no drawn anything in two weeks, barely more than a couple of doodles in the margin school notes. My brain was starting to die and I was getting pretty stressed, but hey, the stress of a drawing makes me forget all of that so that I have time to be stressed about something else. Even if it's not all that I hoped it would be, I'm not entirely picky today because I FINALLY GOT TO DRAW. I guess it's a Madonna? There wasn't a lot of room to draw halos, as you can see from erased pencil lines there. Although, apparently I should put some effort into learning how to draw more detailed babies, he's got no mouth or nothing there.
